I have some great Oregon coast pictures I should post, taken this past memorial day when we stayed with my sissies, their husbands, and my nephew at the "cabin" (a place as big as my house) for the weekend. I'll bet you'll like them, Miss Peggy!

13. Our winters are chilly and wet......

No snow, of course down here by the beach....But there is snow in the local mountains...enough to ski on, or so I'm told....

The temps can get into the 40's, but more common are in the 50's or 60's, during the day anyhow.....

And it rains....sometimes a lot. Last year was our second wettest on record. I felt positively mildewy a good deal of the time...

And once in a while, the sun comes out, the skies clear up and we have fantastic visibility....That's when the local photographers go up in the small planes for the fabulous pics that make everyone want to live here!

The surfer shot was not, I believe, a wide-angle....I do think that I had the lens all the way out, to the equivalent of 300mm...

I did want to pull him in as closely as I could......

Actually, there were quite a few guys in the water that day...

They just weren't in my shot at that moment....

I really wanted to try and catch the motion.

The camera allowed me to succeed......These new digi cameras have NO discernible lag between pressing the shutter, and when the lens opens!

36. memories, memories, I went to

High school in Key West,what a blast, The sounds, smells, sights, never leave ya, that was back in the late 70s, Pictures like the ones you have shown me, bring back fond memories. It looks like a road trip to South Padre is in store for this weekend. Thanks again.:hi:
