5 hours in honolulu

i'm leaving 2 hours to go thru security and the usual airport mess

1. Relax.

Take a walk outside if you can.

Enjoy the last few hours of the tropical air.

go enjoy the stores inside the airport.

There are some vendors there with beautiful leis that you can take into the US. Or buy pineapples to go...they check them on the plane and you pick them up when you reach your destination.

8. When is this happening?

Five hours would be enough time to cab or even bus it into town -- Chinatown isn't that far away -- or maybe even to Ala Moana Center; Neighbor Island residents often make day trips to Hon. for this purpose.

Security mess is usually worst at night when most of the flights leave for the mainland. It goes from a breeze around 5 or 6, when I have gone the past couple of times, to all the way outside the building by 8 or 9.

Depending on when this is happening, we might to be able to throw together a mini-"DUau", which, given my status as a spiritual evacuee, would also qualify as a mini-N.O.-in-exile meetup! (Mrs. oasis has friends down there as well)
