I need a Halloween costume idea

For a party this evening.

And I'm not feeling inspired by anything this year.

Any suggestions???

1. a hello" convention name tag, a box of cereal....

Write TED on the name tag, carry the cereal...when people ask you what you are supposed to be youtake out a rubber knife and repeatedly stab the cereal.
Hence: cereal killer!

2. I'm going as Joel Robinson

Always wanted to since I was a kid, and I will be attending a party with more than a few Misties, so hopefully I won't be mis-identified as a factory worker or a more colorful Pete Townshend.

Speaking of that, a costume idea I stole from the real Joel was: wear all black, and tape candy bar wrappers and empty plastic/paper soda cups or popcorn containers to yourself, and go as the floor of a movie theater.

3. Staple a bread bag to your shirt and go as a loaf of bread

5. The best costume I ever saw

was when two friends of mine went as grapes. They dyed one set of long undies purple and the other green. They attached purple and green balloons all over. It was too funny! Especially when we were all dancing and toward the end of the evening, they started grabbing and bursting each other's balloons!

The drawback is that you can't sit down. The party was at their house so they didn't have to drive anywhere.

6. Okay,

get a big cardboard box that you can fit around yourself. Cut out the ends, but no the sides. Hang rope over the top part so you can wear it. Make a sign on front that says 'For sale, by owner.'
