For all who didn't see my new cat before (pics)
Here is Charlotte. A month ago this is as close to her as she would let me come.

She would eat though. Every night she would show up for her dinner. A week ago she became much more friendly and she became infactuated with Pad Thai (my fixed male Siamese) and started meowing at all the windows, but running from me. Finally late last week, she walked right into the condo. So here she is, temporarily confined to the den. (Tomorrow she loses her "womanhood" and gets shots and tests).

Also some bastard declawed her before abandoning her to the woods. :grr:

3. Okay, wait...someone declawed her, but didn't spay her, then
dumped her in the woods? Some people...idiots.

Anyway, you rock for taking your time with her, taking her in. She looks like one happy kitty. Beautiful!

9. It's amazing that this cat survived as long.
Declawed cats aren't supposed to be outside at all. Maybe she is spayed too? I guess if she is, the dr. would see a scar after shaving her.

10. Your kitty may very well be spayed too
I adopted an outside stray and took her to the very to get all fixed up. They called me, telling me she already had a spay scar and had been declawed (I saw her 'clawing things' and just assumed she had claws).

Have them shave her belly first before they put her under to see if there's a scar. You won't be able to tell from just looking, the scars are very faint. My kitty was already under when they discovered the scar.

Charlotte is a beautiful kitty.

13. first, it is wonderful you're taking her in, demnan!
A stray female I began feeding several months ago (another wonderful DUer adopted her last spring) had already been spayed... she was very skittish (but would come for food and seemed to feel safe with me) and I thought she'd been abandoned at a young age, but apparently she'd been spayed and then abandoned (still had her claws, tho).

Anyway, she'd been sedated and shaved and the vet said she had her tiny spay scar. You never know, she might just need her shots.

Good luck with Charlotte!

14. Good News
Charlotte is FeLv negative! Wanted to add also that when she became "infatuated" with Pad Thai I believe she was in heat! I think she wasn't spayed before because she's a young cat (she's grown just in the last few days).
