Poll question: Do conservatives like to read?
I've had a theory that has always been proven true. The theory is this: conservatives do not like to read book.

My evidence is the Amazon.com bestseller list.

Virtually every conservative author that releases a book (Hannity, Coulter, etc) will have initial success with the book, and it will remain in the top ten for a couple of weeks. Typically, the book will then drop into the top 100 and finally plummet down into the thousands in rank.

Liberal authors, like Al Franken and Michael Moore, remain in the top ten or 100 for weeks, even months.

Here's some examples from Amazon.com:
Sean Hannity, "Let Freedom Ring," #1030
Ann Coulter, "Treason," #210
Ann Coulter, "Slander," (paperback), #1900
Bernie Goldberg, "Bias," #746
Laura Inghram, "Shut up and Sing," #113
Bill O'Reilly, "Who's Looking Out for You," #37
Bill O'Reilly, "The O'Reilly Factor," #2182
Bill O'Reilly, "The No Spin Zone," #2181
Michael Savage, "Savage Nation," #2178
Tucker Carlson, "Politics, Partisans, and Parasites: My Adventures in Cable News," #5278
Mona Charen, "Useful Idiots," #3803

Al Franken, "Lies and the Lying Liars who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right," #6
Michael Moore, "Dude, Where's My Country," #5
Michael Moore, "Stupid White Men" (published in 2002), #104
Al Franken, "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot" (published in 1996), #619
Molly Ivins, "Bushwhacked," #26
Hillary Clinton, "Living History," #289

3. Of course not

That would mean they would have to do something for themselves. In their ideal world, they want to sit on their asses and do nothing while the servant class caters to them. They already have talk radio to tell them what to think as well as do their complaining for them. I am sure Oxy-Moron can read the books and "make the complex understandable" for them on his radio show when he gets back Monday

4. are you kidding me

They are way to stressed out from working to support their 3400 SF homes and trying to find decent child care for the kids, not to mention time to ferry them back and forth from activities while demanding better schools and better roads and transit systems, while in complete denial about the end result of individual actions, such as shopping at Walmart and electing anti union reThugs.

It's not so much the hate radio (but thats way harmful as well) but the corp media which always slants right, emphasizing the CUT TAZES mantra, and culture of selfishness, which they completely buy into.

8. I think you've hit on the thing that ticks me off most about
the conservowhackos I know. "The county should pay to build a road to my 4000 square foot house on half an acre where there used to be a soybean farm, and they should pay for the telephone and other utility services to be run fifteen miles outside the city limits of the nearest town, where I could have bought a 2500 square foot house for half the price of the elegant dump I paid to build from the ground up. But if those bastards raise my property taxes and sales taxes to help defray the cost of extending those services, I'll vote them out of office! How dare they raise my taxes?"

Where the hell do they think the money comes from? Do you get a denial module to jam into your brain when you drink the Kool-Aid?

if you would have checked the Anti-Clinton Titles during the Clinton years you would have seen higher numbers... They just don't feel they have to since thier annointed and appointed King is at the helm. When the Dems take the Whitehouse and Senate back next year... watch what happens...

6. Talk radio
and if they read at all it's like what Franken said in "Lies" - they only read books to comfirm their points - most likely conservative books too.

7. They like to read, but only Party-Approved Literature
Why is it Freepers/Dittoheads/Brownshirts (though I repeat myself) so often behave EXACTLY like the Commies they profess to hate so much?

Answer: Because their Bushevik Party Pravda has programmed them that way!
