He's been at the top of my laminated list since I was sixteen, and he only gets better with age.

Edited to say that I won a radio contest to attend a special soundcheck party a few years back. He asked me for a request and I said "Walking on the Spot," which is one of my favorite Crowded House songs and one I've never heard live. He sang it for me, just him and a piano. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I get chills thinking of it. His voice turns my knees into absolute jelly.

Seriously, I'm envious to a huge fault. I can't imagine but I would have turned to jelly too.
I don't know why but he makes me melt and I ain't that type of girl. What's he like in person?

83. I'm sorry! Don't hate me! LOL!
Well, if it makes you feel any better I really had trouble forming any coherent sentences when I met him, so I felt like a complete ass. What's he like in person? He is as gracious and sweet and warm as can be. He's also very intelligent and witty. Even now, as he's finally not looking so boyish anymore, his eyes twinkle madly and his crows feet only make him sexier IMHO. Oh, and he HATES BushCo. All that PLUS incredible musical talent and a gorgeous voice? No wonder he makes our knees weak!

Have you ever seen him play live? If you haven't, you MUST, if you are anywhere near a city he plays. He's fantastic, really one of the best shows you'll ever see. He tours quite often, and always plays lots of Crowded House songs if you're not super familiar with his solo stuff (although I highly recommend giving it a listen if you haven't). I'm on a super-friendly message board that is comprised of Finn fans who like to talk about all kinds of stuff (most of us are super liberal). And when a new album or tour happens, we have all the info on that as well. You should check it out! I'll PM you the website addy. I have the same user name over there and we love having new people. The best part is that it's not like those fan boards where people jump down your throat if you don't know every single bit of minutiae about the artist. People are really cool and fun.

14. Tiny Tim actually DOES have a really good voice.
I saw him perform in a club (in the nineties), and "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" was the only time he used his falsetto. We were all shocked to find out that he actually had a really good voice. (THe only reason we went to the show was because our friends' band was backing him up.)

45. That doesn't surprise me, because when my friends' band
backed him up, there was no set list, no rehearsal. He'd just shout out the key and start singing and they had to join in and start playing the song. Since he does a lot of old standards, they managed to pick it up pretty quickly most of the time, but occasionally they were a bit lost. He didn't bring musicians on tour with him; he just hired a band to back him as he got to each city.

Plus he's utterly drop-dead gorgeous.

A counter-tenor, he sang at the last night of the Proms, and I spent the entire time utterly transfixed - Ombra mai fu from Xerxes by Handel was so spine-tinglingly wonderful; and then Fairest Isle as well.
