Help end this geek debate: Which SW film was worse: "Clones" or "Jedi"?
NOTE: Don't suggest "The Phantom Menace"...we both kinda dig it.

I say "Jedi" (at least "Clones" tried to tell an interesting story), and she says "Clones" (she says it boasts superior action sequences).

Here's where it gets difficult:

--AOTC is bereft of heart and soul; while the first two acts of ROTJ are appallingly insipid (Jabba's Muppet Show and the Ewok Adventure).

--The characters of AOTC carry no emotional resonance; whilst the ROTJ trio are pale imitations of their former selves (Ford's become an oaf; Fisher is coked up; Hamill just doesn't have the dignity of a Jedi).

--AOTC has a shit love story; but ROTJ evicerates the nice one we had in "Empire."

So which was worse?

1. Clones was worse but they both sucked. As I have to go back to work
in about 15 min, I'll have to elaborate another time.

2. A planet full of dancing Ewoks
is still better than a single Jar Jar.

5. But Jar Jar was only in it for 5 minutes
More importantly, Lucas did something clever with his character: he made him the pawn of Palpatine.

The ewoks, on the other hand, were on-screen for at least an hour. And I loathed every second of it.

6. An hour of "Chub-chub" is still better than a single "Meesa"

4. Jedi was worse.
Despite the ghastliness of the love scenes, "Clones" was more watchable.

simply because of this: Too damn pretty. That's my biggest problem with ALL of the prequels, but clones in particular. everything's all shiny, and perfect, and focused on the environment. i liked the more realistic settings in jedi

8. The glut of CGI is a valid critique
At least Episode I had actual sets; and with "Sith," the technology had reached a point where it could be fairly well integrated. But AOTC looks like a bloody video game demo at times.

10. Clones
for the shitty love story, poor acting, and the overload of CGI.

11. CLONES. CLONES. CLONES. CLONES. CLONES. CLONES. CLONES. CLONES.
'Jedi' at least has a decent rescue-Han scene and one hell of a battle between Vader and Luke, chided by a really nasty Emperor at the end.

Clones is pure computer generated drivel. And I don't mean the cheap effects either, the plot and characters lack soul too.

12. I say "Clones" is worse
'cause Return of the Jedi is my favorite Star Wars movie; simply because I found it to be the most entertaining of all of them.

(I'm a very casual Star Wars fan; I've seen each one once and liked different things about all of them. Having seen them each only once, though, I can't contribute much to debates about any of them because I remember very few details about any of them!)

14. clones is worse, ROTJ despite its flaws was still watchable
i still like the old celebration Ewok song though, for whatever reason.

oh shit, wtf was up with them putting in the young Anakin (whats his name? christiansen?) instead of the older guy that used to be in it. I mean, it doesnt make any sense to do that, they should have put in Ewan McGregor as Obi wan then? I'm talking about the end scene in ROTJ when yoda, obi wan, and anakin are blue gloweys in the celebrations scene
