Thanks to the Lounge Lizards! The jokes were a BIG hit!

Thanks, all, for helping me out with shrub/GOP jokes for the Chili cook off. They were as big hit yesterday at the chili cook off. The chili was an even bigger hit, however. We took first place.

It was all over the media that the Champaign County Democrats won the Chili cookoff, and there were a BUNCH of people there that were at our booth. We even had some guy with a TV camera standing IN our booth and filming the front of our booth for quite a while (but I have not seen that, yet. I am hoping somebody got a tape of it.)

They were making jokes on the radio about the Democrat Chili, plus they talked about how good it was. I do not know yet if we won in the "People's Choice" category. They were still counting that last night and we'll not know the winner of that one until Monday. I joked more than once that I was happy it was a verifiable paper trail.

I have a HORRIBLE headache today, but I suspect the Chili had nothing to do with that. I think it is far more likely that the other brew I consumed created today's misery...

All in all, we got some good free media for the party, we made the Dems $50 bucks after we took out the expenses, AND it was a huge party that was a lot of fun. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday.
