Restoril
(This is not a solicitation for medical advice)

I've been having some problems sleeping, so my doctor has written a prescription for Restoril. I'm a little hesitant to take it because I've heard some not so happy stories about another sleep aid called Ambien.

Anyone care to share their personal experiences with Restoril?

1. None personally, but I knew one person who was taking it. He was
happy with it.

3. no personal experience but...
just curious, does the doctor know why you're having trouble?
I'm always afraid to take medication until I try natural remedies first. Also, if you havent already done so, google Restoril you might find alot of info out there, maybe even from personal experience.

I think so many times meds just suppress the real problem.

4. I have tried natural remedies
I too loath to jump straight to a prescription. I've tried everything from warm tea and milk to valerian to try and get to sleep. This is bascially my last resort.

I have talked with my doctor and a councelor about my sleep problems and they both agree it probably stems from depression. I lost my mom in June and that along with some other issues are keeping me from resting properly.

5. Restoril is better than Ambien...in my own experience.....
....sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom...I lost my Dad in June as well....Restoril knocked me out completely...Ambien didn't work as well at all and did give me strange dreams because I felt awake and asleep at the same time...hope you get some decent rest soon...believe me I can relate!
