At the age of 45, my boss had to sit me down and explain the ins and outs of the "elevator conversation", "good morning, how are you" and "nice weather, isn't it" scripts. I finally 'got it' that there is no need to do a weather briefing.

He also got pissed off because I'd email him instead of walking the two metres to his cubicle and wouldn't answer the phone.

I happen to be an Aspie... while I wouldn't disagree with our mannerisms, which would seem alien to normal people, not all of us need to have everything explained to us. But if you feel that's a bad thing, I suggest you buy a gun, come over to my house, and put me out of my misery. You can explain to me how before doing so too.

20. My daughter is a member of an alien race

When she was small, her nickname (don't ask me why - I don't know) was "Bear." When she was a very precocious 3 year old, she approached me one day and explained, quite seriously that she was actually an alien being. She's landed on Earth, lived with bears for a while (hence the nickname) and then being curious about humans, crawled into my belly and was born as a baby.

She was utterly serious and the story, as she told it, made perfect sense to me. Nothing in the ensuing 20 years has served to make me doubt it.

His dad (my ex) all alien. I just listened to them discuss quantum physics on the phone for a half hour. My son got his ged last year, and my ex got his associates in accounting 2 years ago, so I guess it was a discussion who's time had come.
