I'm starting to feel afraid. Who's got some comfort?
I've been spending *way* too much time in GD and now I'm convinced that my starving, freezing little daughter and I will be terrorized by burly gun toting freepers who are going to break into my house after the electricity and internets go out (because there is an enegy crisis) because they think we have food. And I won't be able to leave in my car because it will have no gas (and be broken down, a different story).

:scared:

I know that people are actually dealing with nightmarish issues (we still haven't heard from Maddy McCall, and some DUers have lost everything), but

I need to see pictures of bunnies or something. :(

1. I dreamed last night that Maddy was ok..
I don't know her, but I had a dream about her posting and everyone was relieved she was ok. It was weird.

cell phone today... have no idea if anything got through... still can't get through on the phone.

(On edit... I am sure she is safe with her family, which as I recall, she said was 90 miles North of NO. They probably have no means of communication.)

5. Oh, that's good.
She reached them, for sure?

I hope she wasn't stuck on the interstate...ugh. I'm sure she's fine. I need to take a break I think.

And I am search challenged.

But thanks for the info. I've been thinking about her and Dylan Georgia (?) all day. And frustrated lefty, and merh....etc. etc. etc.

We all knew when the spell of cognitive dissonance
cast by the neocons was broken the results were going
to be ugly.

But, it will lead to better things.

6. Come by tomorrow for cyber-breakfast; I have the slow-cooked
Irish oatmeal, bagels from the bakery down the street, and tea (I don't drink coffee, hope that's okay).

We can chat a while before school/work/cleaning the house.

No matter what, we have each other. I know I've felt particularly down today, but as long as there's DU, we'll make it. Think about it.

10. Ooh, let's do that.
Mmmm Irish oatmeal...

I think we'll make it, but the idea of the future is just so tiring today.

12. Aww yeah.
I wish. Haven't had liquor in the house for months--perhaps I should rectify that situation tomorrow?

Southern comfort....sigh...

11. that is highly unlikely to happen
go do something fun. Like my mom always says, the world will look better in the morning, and, the world is not coming to an end.

13. It is?
Clearly you've not been to GD lately, LOL.

You're probably right. I feel for those directly affected by Katrina. If I'm all down and dumpy, they must have the courage of lions down there to be dealing with what they're dealing with.

gets slung around in there. I'm not a believer in apocalyptic scenarios. And I'm an optimist and one of those glass half-full people, so, there you go. :)

Hold your daughter close, find her favorite books and read to her. Make some tea or hot chocolate as others have suggested, put some soft music on in the back ground, light a candle, soothe your senses.

Come here when you need to talk. All we can do is donate to the cause, send our heart wishes out to those in the effected areas, hope that our friends are safe, and be here for each other. :grouphug:
