Poll question: Ridiculous explosions in movies
One of my biggest pet peeves where movies / shows are concerned is the completely unrealistic explosions that most directors seem to prefer. Apparently every car that's shot or whatever has to be carrying rocket fuel or lots of explosives in tinsel town. Drives me up the wall...

Does this bother you or do you like it?

1. Stupid
My goal in life is to avoid having such unnecessary explosions in my car when I'm just trying to go to Target or something.

2. Corollary: *Outrunning* a big stupid explosion...
I blame George Lucas for this. The first time I remember seeing it is in Star Wars (second death star explosion: Empire Strikes Back?).

5. Ugh...
yeah... it seems like that would be worse, but for some reason it's the explosions themselves that bug me.

6. They do that on The Simpsons too?
I never noticed it ... quit watching years ago, though. I like it when I see it on ATHF. :D

4. I don't remember what movie it was but I remember laughing my ass off
when a small passenger plane ran out of fuel and then crashed with an enormous explosion. What the hell made the explosion if they were out of fuel?

9. Any time a car goes off a cliff it's mandatory for it to blow up.

Often without even hitting anything.
