MIA: Mister Salty, Doo-Dads & Other Assorted Missing Snacks

With all these "snack" and "disgusting food" threads, I've been wondering...

Whataver happened to Mister Salty pretzels? God, I used to love those things! And Doo-Dads, which was the original Chex-Mix snack. I haven't seen these old friends in years.

Whatever happened to those glorious snacks from my wayward youth?

I had not seen any since the late 90s. I remember that it was extremely popular when I was growing up in the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and then as 2000 rolled around, they were practically nowhere to be seen. That snack mix has been discontinued in the U.S ... Anyway, Ritz Snack Mixers have been discontinued also, but don't worry. It only gets better. About a month ago, I was at the supermarket, and lo and behold, I see this brand new product called Nabisco Snack Mixers! They come in two varieties: Traditional and Cheddar. So what is it, you might say? Nabisco's Doo Dads and Ritz Snack Mixers resurrected!

Such a shame, really - Ritz Snack Mixers were okay, but all of those imitators paled next to the Real Deal.

As for my old pal Mister Salty, those Mister Salty Pretzel & Cheese things aren't quite the same. The pretzels in those are big ol' hummers, rather than the slim, extra-crispy salt-encrusted version that used to exist in box form.
