11. One of my old zines was a give-away at the LA premiere
Edited on Mon Jul-11-05 07:16 PM by swag
of "Welcome to the Dollhouse." The film's publicist had found an article I had done (circa 1994) about digital voyeurism in womens' restrooms (just then appearing were gifs of wiping episodes, which one viewed using Compuserv's cshow or some other Mac or DOS-based graphics viewers), and had thought that the theme of the story connected with the scene where Dawn's classmate forces her to defecate in the girls' room with the bathroom door open.

"I think we may have some sympatico," she emailed to me, requesting 500 copies of that issue for the premiere.

It was fun getting a note from the publicist about who had been caught reading my shitty little zine.

4. Solondz is terrific
I really like Happiness, Storytelling and Palindromes, his last movie that was in theaters for about two weeks in late April/early May. He has such unique sensibilities and I totally the dark humor present in all of his films.

I bought Happiness a while ago so I don't remember how I felt when making the purchase. It's definitely worth checking out though.

6. Oh, GS.
I bought that movie totally by accident, didn't you?

Anyway, your confessions reek of my confessions. I just think we all wanted to be a little horrified.
