Who else is sick of "cute" weddings?

In a few weeks, I'll have to hike up a mountain to see my brother get married. Since the wedding is at 3:00 in the afternoon, I'll have to hike right back down the mountain or stay overnight in a tent. The reason for this wacked out wedding scenario? The bride used to look at this mountain from her bedroom window while she was growing up. So now, we all have to suffer. I know I sound like a killjoy about this, but dammit, the couple is in their 50's, and so are most of the guests. Doesn't anybody just walk down and the aisle and say "I do" anymore? The last wedding I went to required a boat ride to a river island. I just think people are trying too hard to be different, y'know? Is anybody else sick of these circus weddings?

Circus weddings are for other people. We got in the car, went in front of the judge with one witness, and walked out with the papers. Engaged 9 days, married in Valentine's Day. That was 9 years ago, and everytime I see one of those weddings extravaganzas, I thank whoever's in charge that we didn't make ourselves go through all that noise. :)
