The Constant Gardener.
I just saw the trailer for John Le Carre's story adapted to the cinema. I understood what the preview was about because I had read the book, but I was surprised when someone behind me in the theater said she had "no clue." (For those who haven't read the book, it's the story about the fate of a couple when one of them finds out that a pharmaceutical company is using poor Africans as guinea pigs for their drugs.)

So, I wonder if the theme was strong enough in the story, as well as in the movie? I did feel he could have gone deeper into developing culpability in the book. But I figured that he held back because of possible lawsuit issues. I surmised as much from his disclaimer, and after listening to that movie viewer's reaction, I just wondered if there was a story behind the story that would resonate more with the public? Maybe in this era of Tort Reform, people are still hesitant to understand or believe what these companies are capable of doing?
