"Lunatic fringe
I know you're out there..."

I think it was by Red Ryder.

1. "102.7 WEBN the lunatic fringe of American FM"
Spoken in a deep announcer voice.

That's a radio station out of Cincinnati that I listen to sometimes. I think you are right about the creator of the tune. "We all know you're out there."

2. Yeah it is ......good song
Lunatic fringe
I know you're out there
You're in hiding
And you hold your meetings
We can hear you coming
We know what you're after
We're wise to you this time
We won't let you kill the laughter.

Lunatic fringe
In the twilight's last gleaming
This is open season
But you won't get too far
We know you've got to blame someone
For your own confusion
But we're on guard this time
Against your final solution

We can hear you coming
(We can hear you coming)
No you're not going to win this time
We can hear the footsteps
(We can hear the footsteps)
Way out along the walkway
Lunatic fringe
We know you're out there
But in these new dark ages
There will still be light

An eye for an eye;
Well before you go under...
Can you feel the resistance?
Can you feel the thunder?

3. Red Rider.
Re-released as "Tom Cochrane and Red Rider" after the worldwide smash-hit by solo Cochrane, "Life is a Highway".

PS, life is not a highway, you hack.

4. Thanks for posting the lyrics
I didn't realize that song had that political edge to it.

10. Yeah it's always been my favorite Red Ryder song
but until I read the lyrics I didn't realize how political it was either.

5. I heard a Tom Cochrane interview
the song was big at the time John Lennon was murdered. He said he got a lot feedback from fans how eerily he sounded like Lennon when he sings that phrase "Lunatic fringe,we all know you're out there."

6. Thanks, LibertyorDeath!
It is a timely message in those lyrics from decades ago.
