It says it can't retrieve the URL. I couldn't "contact DU"! Finally, I responded to an old DU e-mail, and now I got on. But it took forever.

I smell a rat.

Got the error message AGAIN! Wouldn't post. Got this far, and the same thing happened! What the fuck is going on?

It's either legitimate traffic; someone was flooding the server; or there was something wrong with the server not related to traffic.

The website is a political target, afterall. Many folks would love to take a shot at such a target, but if it isn't an attack, it could be the server has a few problems it's working through.

10. The entire internet seems a bit sluggish.

And it's not just me. My friends are IMing me with sluggish performance all night.

I've heard a rumor that Google is doing a major update this weekend, and that it's slowing things down a bit. I've noticed that my own site logs have been slammed with web-crawling bots.

Plus, pagerank is down.

I love Google. I only have one site, and no one pays me for it, but I find Google an inherently interesting program to observe. I've spent many, many hours studying Google and reading search-engine forums.

Google is the closest thing to a tangible deity that mankind has ever created. I'm not saying you should worship Google... but think about it: You can get information on ANYTHING. If mankind has thought about it, it's known by Google.

Simply mind-blowing.

14. My theory:

We're all kinda fucked up from the parties, cuz it's a day to remember the fallen, so we barbecue and drink (this is my birthday weekend and I grew up going to cemeteries on my birthday, don't get me started! And I'm Vet.) And Internet 2.0 is supposed to be rolling out. And the CIA was supposed to be going through an Internet attack drill. Sounds like a bad combination to me.
