Will star wars episodes 7-9 ever make into the public?
Via big screen, little tv show, leaked scripts even?

Lucas made 'em 30 years ago, so who isn't curious to know what 3 movies would be like sans Vader?

(or was that ewok movie one example?)

2. I don't think so.
There are plans for a live action TV show, however, that takes place between Episodes III & IV. I guess they'll focus on the exploits of Vader and the Empire, as well as the formation of the Rebel Alliance.

3. I wouldn't mind
being able to read the screenplay or something like that. I can't imagine they're all that interesting. I mean, no more Vader, no more Emperor, no more Empire. What exactly is there to see? Han and Leia have kids?

4. from what I understand
and I know there are people who know a lot more detail...

Luke sets up a Jedi Academy, marries a woman who, from what I gather, had worked for the Emperor, he has kids, Han and Leia have kids...

Leia works as a diplomat.

6. IMHO...
(This said in knowledge that Lucas has said he won't make them.)

If I were to right them this is what I'd do.

Luke screwed up. He didn't listen to Yoda. Didn't finish his training. This tainted him with the dark side, which consumes him, turning him into something that makes Vader look tame.

Han and Leia's kid must stop him.

25. I've not seen Ep III yet.
I would have had Anakins fall to the Dark Side very reminiscent of what we've seen with Luke thus far. Make the fans go "Oh oh."

Rush or interrupt his training somehow. Replace a few parts with mechanisms. Give him a moment of calm before the storm sucks him in. That sort of thing.

I've heard Ep III is dark. Perhaps the stage is set?

26. Ep III was very dark!
And without giving anything away, Anakin's turn wasn't much like Luke's near turn.

8. Read some of the books out there
Vader and the Emporer may have fallen, but the Empire continues. C'mon. Isn't everyone on DU supposed to pass a political reality test when they register? Can you imagine a bureaucracy like the Empire just folding overnight because the weird old guy in the tacky robe, and his Lego buddy, get whacked?

Yeah, like Rome folded because Caligula caught a sword or two on his way to the arena.

I'd like to see more of that dealt with, the period after the Emporer came to full power, than what happened after Luke pulled the rabbit out of his hat. Maybe they could make a tv series called "young skywalkers" showing how Luke and Leia grew up, and why they did what they did.

And how come Vader didn't catch on to Leia's powers as soon as he met her?

15. Certainly not, however,
The navy would fold, because the Emporer was propping up each individual soldier with the Force.

23. I've always wondered that
why couldn't Vader sense that Leia was his daughter the way he sensed Luke was his son? If we go by Ep III, Vader didn't even know that the baby survived, let alone that there were two of them. But you'd think he's be able to sense it.

7. Lucas never wrote anything
He said in the mid 80s that he would like to make three trilogies, but leter recanted. He was thinking out loud. He said that he realized the story was told. There are several books that take the story further. Lucas approved the authors to work with his characters, but had no creative imput into the works.

9. 3 movies about reconstruction, not so interesting
Edited on Thu May-26-05 07:52 AM by Rabrrrrrr
the first movie could be all about continued fighting with imperial troops and stuff, trying to free the worlds from their yoke. That might actually be interesting.

But at some point, you have to end the Empire and actually begin rebuilding the republic. Likely in movie II you'd have to focus on that.

But you'd likely probably have to span 100 years or more to see the Republic truly back, and I'm sure it wouldn't be what it was. That might be interresting to see, too.

But they wouldn't be anywhere near as exciting and filled with battles and chases and stuff like the other ones.

But I'm also just thinking out loud, and not very coherently.

Of course they will. Anything to wring more money from the franchise. It's about the money. Episodes 10-12, for that matter.

18. I Wonder If They Are Contained In The Novels Already Written: SPOILERS
Edited on Thu May-26-05 11:22 AM by Beetwasher
There are a lot of novels and comics that take place after ROTJ.

Spoilers:

Han and Leia get married and have 3 kids, Jaina, Jacen and Anakin.

The Empire is NOT defeated immediately after ROTJ, there is a lot of work still to be done including defeating a clone of the Emperor who almost seduces Luke to joining the dark side.

The remnants of the Empire rally behind the Brilliant Chiss Grand Admiral Thrawn who almost succeeds in defeating the New Republic.

Luke sets up a Jedi Academy. Han and Leia's kids become very powerful Jedi.

Luke marries Mara Jade who was once an assassin working for Emperor Palpatine. She eventually does become a Jedi though. They eventually have a baby named Ben.

Eventually the Empire IS defeated and a contingent of the Empire lead by Grand Admiral Pellaeon is relegated to a small piece of the galaxy w/ their Capital on Bastion. But the New Republic runs most of the galaxy.

Eventually the galaxy faces a new threat from Extra Galactic invaders called the Yuuzhan Vong who are IMMUNE to the force! Jacen, Jaina and Anakin Solo are all involved in the war. The New Republic and The Remnant of the Empire actually become ALLIES in this war!

Anakin solo and Chewbacca both die in the war against the Vong.

I wonder if any of this is what Lucas had in mind for Eps 7-9?

Yeah, I'm a fuckin' geek! So what?!

I seem to remember "Heir to the Empire" or some such being the first officially sanctioned...

31. Nah, Han and Chewie go to Earth
There was a comic book showing that somehow those two made it to Earth in the 19th century. Han was killed by Indians and Chewie has been immortalized in legend ever since as the Sasquatch.

32. I'd rather see something going way, way back.
I'd rather see a movie about older Jedi-Sith wars. That would be interesting. It would have all new characters, except perhaps Yoda, depending on how far back they went.
