Dinner at the Prophet household
Tonight I pan-fried some swordfish steaks, since the Prophetess has never had swordfish:

In a large saucepan over medium heat, pour 2 tbsp. olive oil, add 1 tsp chopped garlic, 1/2 tsp basil, and a small chopped onion. When the onions begin to brown, add swordfish steaks, 1 cup sliced tomatoes, and 1 cup sliced mushrooms. Cook approximately 5-10 minutes each side, depending on steak thickness. Salt and pepper to taste.

On the side, I made rice pilaf and steamed asparagus with cheese sauce. Just to spice things up, I added a few cloves, about 1 cup of chopped onion, and half a cup of chopped tomato to the rice pilaf.

All that followed by a shot of Don Amado Reposado mescal for me and a mini extra-dry martinin for the Prophetess. Worked well.

So, what's for dinner DU?

7. Leftovers from my daughter's grad party.
I turned the grilled chicken into chicken salad for sandwiches; we also had hotdogs and hamburgers left. For sides, homemade baked beans, two kinds of potato salad, tortilla chips. Fruit and Cool Whip for dessert (the yummy fruit dip my mother made is all gone).

My dad, my husband and I all drank Moose Drool. Mom had water.

My folks are leaving tomorrow, so when my husband gets home from his class tonight, we'll have a glass or two of wine with my dad before hitting the hay.
