Future Star Wars Movies (SPOILER ALERT)
Despite Lucas' claims, he left the door wide open for future Star Wars movies. Now, I'm not a fan of these three movies, but I was intrigued by one thing....HERE COMES THE SPOILER....

When the Sith Lord, Palpatine, was explaining the dark side of the force to Annikan, he mentioned his mentor, whose name I can't remember right now. Palpatine mentioned that he killed him in his sleep, but I see that character as an entry point to future Star Wars sequels, as well as going into the world of the Siths.

Here's a possible plot. The Jedi religion is banned throughout the galaxy because people fear that it may invite the dark side. Luke is exiled on a special planet along with others who have the Jedi traits. However, the Siths are stirring trouble and soon, the Jedi are called on once again to defeat the Siths once and for all.

1. Was Yoda Palpatine'sTeacher....
When he met Yoda he said...you survived...was that because he thought he'd killed his teacher and he was still alive...

Just a thought that occurred to me real time...

8. Yoda survived the elimination of the Jedi.
Order 66, when all the clone troopers turned on their Jedi Generals. Yoda wasn't Palpatine's teacher. It's not even clear that Palpatine was even ever a Jedi - you needn't have been to be a Sith.

22. Even general greivous was trained in the "Jedi Arts". So you don't have to
BE a Jedi to know the force.

26. And You've Written How Many Scripts? And Had Them Produced Where?
Hey, I was just offering a rough first outline or draft. It wasn't meant to be submitted to the studios head. But, thank you very much for your insightful criticism. What's your real name so that I can look up your illustrious credits on IMDB.

5. Here's the story I see - episode III ended up with Padme giving birth
one of those children, the boy, Luke I think they called him, grows up. Obi Wan is watching over him, so he somehow manages to teach Luke about the Force. Luke then goes after Darth Vader and destroys that death star Palpatine was making. In the process, Luke and the girl - Leia? - end up back together, and eventually realize they are brother and sister and together they defeat Darth Vader and the Emperor and bring rightness back to the galaxy. And of course, since R2D2 and C3PO were in the films, let's keep them in the sequels as well. And Yoda should come back, too - perhaps Obi Wan can't teach Luke enough, so he has to go to Yoda or something.

11. What a load of tripe
Nobody would EVER go see these kind of movies, --- unless you place a hot bikini-clad woman on top of a giant slug - THEN you would have something.....

12. I like the way you think! Giant slugs and bikini women -
what could be hotter!!

I'm surprised there isn't already a form of Japanese comic book about slug/golden-bikini-woman sex.

but you're right, no one would pay to see the scenario I mapped out. I was just being crazy.

9. The "Star Wars" website had some interesting stuff
For instance, this page goes into the Emperor surviving being thrown, well, wherever it was he was thrown.

http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/palpatine/?id=eu

It goes into the "Expanded Universe" which I think the books covered. I liked Star Wars, but never read the books.

a few of them.

one of them under which Luke studied at length for some time.

That his "Darkness" survived, and he had to have clones made to house the darkness..lol.

Sounded very....dark.

17. There's a good number of fans that enjoy the expanded universe...
... but then there's a good number of fans that detest the *exploited* universe. Personally, I've read a handful of the novels and have followed the general storyline, and cannot stand them. They never felt quite like the films (yes, lit is not the same as film and I'm aware of the aesthetic differences) and had more to do with sci-fi jargon and cheap storylines than anything else -- the depth of the films and the mythic aspect is completely non-existent.

That said, there are still a few interesting things that come out of the EU -- some characters, vehicles, planets, histories and origins, etc. Garm Bel Iblis, a hard-nosed Corellian senator, is a particular favorite of mine... I think Lucas likes bits and pieces also -- Aayla Secura (the blue Twi'lek female played by Amy Allen in the last two films) and Master Quinlan Vos (briefly mentioned by Obi-Wan in Ep. III) came from a comic series which caught Lucas' eye.

15. There will be no more films...
Edited on Mon May-23-05 08:55 PM by Hatalles
There are plans for a cartoon series and live-action television show (which takes place between Episode III and IV and deals with original characters and some minor film characters). Lucas himself will put together some of early episodes for the live action series and then will leave it to others -- similar to the way "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles" was produced.

EDIT: "Chronicles," not "Adventures." :)

18. Yeah, it didn't fare too well ratings-wise.
I can't recall what the critics had to say about it. I remember a few episodes and some of them were pretty good.

19. Supposedly, everything you'd want to know about the Sith...
...you can find in those "Expanded Universe" books, from the rise of Exar Kun all the way down to the fall of Palpatine, aka Darth Sidious.

But I wouldn't be surprised if Lucas finally reneged on his "Never Again" promise. The lure of all that easy money would be too great.

Star Wars trilogy. It'll be easier for Robert Downey Jr. to walk away from drugs than it is for Hollywood to walk away from money.

28. The Tragedy of Darth Plagias
That's the story Palpatine was referring to. I don't know if Plagias was his master though, that's open to speculation.
