Did you see "Monster-in-Law" this week or do you plan to see it?
I liked the movie, but many did not. What about you?

I wonder if it could be a backlash against Jane Fonda for her "indiscretions" about the Vietnam War. Just my theory...

The film earned $24 million in its first weekend (May 13-14-15). It was the top grossing movie last weekend.

4. OK, thanks. Is it her acting or her lifestyle or?? -- I'm curious.
I've heard this before from others. I saw "The Wedding Planner" and "Maid in Manhattan" -- didn't find her particularly offensive in those.

20. Both, but mostly...
it's her "designer clothes" with lots of fur. Fur is so cruel and unnecessary and she refuses to stop using it because apparently she thinks the trashy caveman look defines her. Who knows how many animals will be tortured and killed so she can make a buck and feel like a star?

2. I hear that Jane Fonda is the best thing in the film
word of mouth not so great about JLO.

3. I thought it looked really cute, but I won't go see it.
I cannot stand JLo and have no desire to support her fur habit. :puke:

5. OK. Where did she wear the fur? Did PETA protest her use of fur?

7. She wears fur everywhere.
She designs clothing using fur etc. I believe PETA has protested against her, yes.

During her "JLO Fashion Show", apparently one of the models had fur on?? Don't really remember.

25. She shouldn't do that. So many people are against wearing fur now,
but I always wonder, why do so many people who are against fur -- approve of leather -- for shoes, coats, jackets, gloves, etc.

Frankly, I don't wear either, but not for the same reasons. All of those materials are just too warm for me. I had a leather jacket for about 20 years in Boston, and didn't even wear it there. Now that we're in Portland, it never gets cold enough for me to wear more than a raincoat.

6. Tough question. While I'd be interested in seeing Jane after a billion
years....do I want to watch Jenny Lopez for a while....

I have this disturbing feeling that every romcom Jenny does was written for Julia Roberts or Sandra Bullock. It bothers me.

I liked The Wedding Planner in spite of that (but Sandra Bullock has much more chemistry with Mattie McConaughey)....didn't like "Maid in Manhattan" (which I watched because I *love* Ralph Fiennes, unnaturally like).

Dunno. Will watch it when it comes on Starz or whatever, LOL!

10. The user ratings of this movie are kind of fascinating.
You can see them at:

http://www.us.imdb.com/title/tt0369735/ratings

Right now, more than 150 people have given it a 10 out of 10.

Almost the same number have given it a 1 out of 10.

Many fewer people are in the middle.

This movie looks like You Either Love it or Hate it...

11. Oh, radwriter0555, that's fun --
Is she in the Screen Extras Guild -- or just hired straightaway for the film from an open casting call? Does she do this often?

12. We're friends with the producer and her daughter and the mom was kind
enough to ask Liv to keep her kid company and be in the film while they re-shot the final scene.

In the original script, there was no wedding but that "didn't sell well in Omaha," as they say, so they re-shot the ending in February.

I got to meet the venerable Ms. Fonda on the set... it was quite a moment for me, let me tell you!

Liv got to meet all, including La Lopez and that cute hunky guy.

22. Yeah, I thought Wanda was terrific, too! Old-timer Elaine Stritch --
who played Jane Fonda's mother, did a great cameo. You probably don't remember her, but I do.
