17. Heisenberg was late, speeding home for dinner.
He had just left his girlfriend's house. Just then, the cops pulled him over. Just when he got his speeding ticket, his wife calls him on his cell phone. She said to him, "Do you know where you are?"

He said, "No, Baby I can't. But I can tell you how fast I was going."

49. My favorite is "A Maze of Death"
I read it when I was a kid, and it blew me away. PKD set up a completely believable, concrete world, and in the last chapter flipped it over and showed us what was REALLY happenning. I was stunned! I still have never seen anyone else write a book like that.

18. When I feel dead in the morning
I am always sure to look in the mirror, pinch or scratch myself, and subject myself to both hot and cold shower water. If I pass those tests, I figure that I am actually alive and not a ghost.

23. Some people wouldn't annoy me as much if I were not alive.
So when I wake up each morning, I go calmly about until someone annoys me then I roll up my sleeves and dig into things. Most days, some fool comes along and reaffirms my system.

55. I have these weird thoughts sometimes.
Especially when I'm in public and people seem to be ignoring me or looking right through me as if I weren't there. I start to wonder if I died in a car accident on the way there and now my confused, invisible spirit is wandering around thinking its still alive.
