It is very painful. I alway likened it to have someone clamp a pair of vice grips on your side and twisting.

Some link stones to diet. Has anyone met with you regarding dietary changes to prevent their recurrence? If not, try a naturopathic doctor. They focus on thinks like diet and other gentle ways of taking care of health issues.

my diet was apparently way too high in soy and tea. :(

23. Do you drink enough water? Or do you drink from calcium rich water?

I had problems with stones a few years back. I drink almost nothing but bottled water and watch my sugar intake. It helped alot. We have a lot of lime, sodium, and calcium in the water table here. I think that was the cause. Hope this helps.
