How far can you open your mouth?

What's the distance between your top and bottom teeth when your mouth is open? For me, it's two inches exactly.

and came near to dislocating my jaw. In a more relaxed arrangement: 2-1/2.

Is this part of a bet to see how many people you can get to measure their open mouths?

Tried it again with my jaw in different positions. Most of the time I stretched to about 2-1/2, though I did hit 3-1/2 one more time. Do you need an answer tonight?
