Poll question: Do you lock your bathroom door when you're at home?

Are you a man or woman? Where do you live? (Urban, rural etc.)
Do you live alone or with family/friends?

2. Hell yes. It's the only moment of solitude I am allowed.
I can stretch a two minute bathroom visit to an hour if I have a new Smithsonian magazine.

My bathroom time is MY time. It's the only privacy I have in my house. :D

5. I have small children - you are darned right, I lock the door!
Still, the turning of that knob and the locking of the door prompts an immediate Pavlovian response of "MOMMY"

6. I usually do.
But I'm paranoid and have an irrational fear of people coming into the bathroom while I'm there- it stems from growing up in a house wiht 2 younger brothers who liked to throw buckets of cold water over the shower curtain while I was in there.

13. We usually don't either
If someone else comes over and is in the next room, then we shut the door. Otherwise we don't.

9. I live alone, and my bathroom doesn't have a lock.
I'd install one if privacy was a concern.

I am female, live on Milwaukee's Fashionable East Side.

11. I always lock it.
And I always bring my cell phone into the bathroom. What if someone is trying to break into the house??

At least the door will be locked and I have a cell phone to call 9-1-1. :hi:

12. sheesh
I rarely even close the bathroom door. I humbly think that bodily functions are not even remotely offensive at all.

If anyone else is here then I'm probably talking to them. So it would be obtrusive to do so.

I'm weird like that.

16. I don't even have a lock on my bathroom door
Most of the time, I don't even close it. I am female, rural and live with my SO.

When I lived in Vermont, I didn't have locks on any of my doors. I used to park my car in the driveway and leave the keys in it. It was rather nice being able to do that.
