How does one search the DU archives beyond 6 months ago?

2. I haven't been able to search the DU1 archives

Every time I try, no matter how late at night, it says searching has temporarily been discontinued due to heavy bandwidth use. You might try Ask the Admins.

If you're looking for something by a specific poster, you can google their screenname and democraticunderground and you may get lucky. But many of the hits seem to be from 2001-2 and are only available using the Cached option.

Is there a particular subject you are looking for? I might have it bookmarked.

OR, you can also do a site search through google as follows:

For instance, doing a search of Iraq

site:democraticunderground.com Iraq

results in this:

Or seaching YOU comes up with this:

7. I was tempted

and still am...I really think we ALL need to be OUT making a difference to the best of our abilities. I think that (while I LOVE some of my fellow DU'ers) posting on the internet leaves people with the notion that they are making a difference when they aren't.

I'm still pissed at a few things...but those are more the subject of a private PM than a public post.
