It's an interesting site, especially active, and somewhat professional. They always try to identify what photos are alter (via Photoshop and other programs) and which aren't.

33. Yes, all great photos - very hard to choose.

But I finally voted for "sharing" because the dog is looking so peaceful and patient while the baby looks like it's trying to pull the dog's nose off, or whatever, which must be pretty painful.

My baby loves to grab a handful of my cat's hair and pull, and my cat is just as peaceful and patient as that dog, despite the pain. Amazing how some animals can behave that way with children.

If it is, that is cool. If that bottom one is all natural it deserves to win, if it was altered, I think I will vote for something else.

It could have been cropped, it could have had a number of things to do it. There's hardly ever a picture of mine posted that doesn't have some sort of post-processing done to it, largely because slide scanners tend to wash out photos, so I put the color back in.

It's an honor system, really, we can't possibly enforce this sort of thing, so if it's heavily edited only the original poster can answer that for you.

Vote for the picture you like, make your own decisions on what's been changed beyond your limits.

47. The image was originally from a slide.

The photographer did touch it up because the quality of the photo diminished in the transfer from slide to digital image. At least that's how I understood it when the photographer explained it to me.

It does look nice though... but I had to go with "Holy Jebus" -- just can't get over those striking colors. I also liked "Road Trip" and "Point Reyes." I'd go with "Road Trip" if there was some color to it -- I like the old fashioned black-and-white look but I think some photoshopped contrasting rust-bright hues would make it all the more beautiful.

just on the cropping alone. Add to that the contrast between the color of the bus and the muted earth tone and menacing dark skies and then add the layer of social implications of the language used on the bus and that is one dynamite photo.

Boathouse, Point Reyes and Beaver Pond, Alaska are awesome. Painted Dunes is spectacular w/hues, tones, but there's something about black and white photos that bring out unscripted moments.
