I grew up with automatic transmission - can possibly drive a stick (taught myself how while working for a florist), but learned that every stick shift is different - and the older ones can be testy.

cEvin Key of Skinny Puppy drives (or at least used to drive) a VW Bug with a pistol grip as a stick shift. Nifty little novelty.

But then again, we're both guys.

drive, when it's out in the parking lot or the street, while you are in the place meeting "the guy" or "the girl"? I have a customer that buys cars depending on what he thinks will attract the girls in the bar, and I asked him how the hell would they know what he was driving? He just shrugged?
