Redskins: Bye bye Rob Johnson
Edited on Wed Oct-22-03 04:16 PM by Cush
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A896-2003Oct22.html

"The Washington Redskins today signed quarterback Tim Hasselbeck and released veteran backup quarterback Rob Johnson.

Hasselbeck was at Redskins Park today for a workout. He was released by Philadelphia on Aug. 31 after spending last season with the Eagles. Hasselbeck, 25, entered the NFL in 2001 as an undrafted rookie out of Boston College signed by the Buffalo Bills. He is the son of former NFL tight end Don Hasselbeck and the brother of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck....."

and the season just gets stranger and stranger......

3. no, JK.
i think weurrfel signed with someone else.

snyder made spurrier cut weurrfel and keep rob johnson. wuerrfel was a much better QB than rob johnson, and that ain't saying much. i think rob johnson has run out his string in the NFL.

the 'skins are as a team are a disorganised mob on the field, and things ain't much better in the front offices.

you can pretty much write off this season. :(

8. Cry-baby Spurrier should have stayed with the Gators.
He brought the Peter Principle to football. He was just plain lucky to have good talent at UF. That made him look good by association.

10. No one gave him more credit then he deserves
But it takes more then 22 games to turn around a team.

I don't think it matters, who ever is in at QB is just going to be killed anyways.

Yeah, hockey is great, it's too bad that the Capitals suck this year. Really, anyone think that their AHL caliber Defense will take them to the Cup?

9. Sorry, I'm a Flyers fan...
One of two hometeams that I root for, along with the Sixers. My Skins love is an aberration. :)

11. What kind of screwed-up karma does Johnson have?
He makes remarks about Buffalo, where he used to play. Then the first-string QB is hurt, he comes in, and he gets sacked in front of booing Buffalo fans. Then he gets dumped.

13. He sucks and has been (gulp) overrated the whole time

Shows the level of QBing inthe NFL that he still hangs around.

Johnson has been widely criticised for taking to many hits and not dumping the ball off. Some in Buffalo thought he was trying to pad his stats, the comments didn't help.

12. TIM Hasselbeck? BC grad who married the girl from Survivor?
I think that is right. They had been a couple for a while (she was captain of the BC field Hockey team) and they got married right after her Survivor stint.

She (name?) was the one who had the really sweat granfather-granddaughter relationship. He was from North Carolina. That was the show that the older bolnde woman won, the bo hunk everyone loved basically gave it to her.

WORLDS ARE COLLIDING!!!!!!!!!!!

15. Rob Johnson has a job....
only because the media and the NFL are desirous to see a brain dead bozo make it as an NFL quarterback

16. show how low the talent level has sunk.
not sure the NFL need to expand, not enuff pro caliber QBs to even get 32 starters, much less the back-up positions.

another fine example of snyders total lack of talent evaluation skills. i mean jebus, he wanted jeff george as a starter over brad johnson!
