Poll question: Who keeps a cleaner house?
This post was inspired by a fellow DU'er yesterday.

3. Ummmm.....

Just wish I had more help with the chores.

And as much as I love my kitties..... seems I can never keep up w/ the cat hair.

5. My Mother ...
Edited on Wed Oct-22-03 11:00 AM by Drifter
She used to vacuum the entire house on average 5 times a week (when I was younger). Yep almost every day.

Here is a funny Vacuum Cleaner Salesperson story.
My mother was in the market for a new vacuum. She called several companies to set up demonstrations.

So this guy comes to the house. His demonstration consists of the following.
1) He marks out a 1 ft square area of the rug (in a high traffic area).
2) Uses the existing vacuum to clean the area
3) Uses his product to clean the same area (He puts a filter in his machine to catch the dirt).
The demonstration is supposed to show the prospective customer that even after clean with their existing vacuum that their product will pick up even more dirt.

When the the person opened their machine to expose the filter and the dirt picked up, both my mother and the salesperson gasps in horror, and in unison they say the following
mom: Good lord, I have never seen so much dirt.
salesperson: Good lord, I have never seen so little dirt.
Both were amazed at the amount of dirt, but in drastically different contexts. The salesperson repeated over and over, how amazed he was at how clean the rugs were in the house. And these are 50 year old oriental rugs too.

Cheers
Drifter

6. I hate cleaning
Unfortunately, my husband does too. We clean for special occaisions. When I get a better job and we buy a house of our own, I'd like to hire someone to come in perhaps once a week for a few hours. Our current place is a bit small for all the junk we have so we've given up on keeping it clean anyway. Yeah, and the framed pictures leaning against the wall because we aren't allowed to put holes in our walls.
