A Public Service Announcement: Support your local library.
1. JOIN. It's free!
Besides being a free source of more books than you'll ever read in your lifetime, they also have FREE MOVIES, MUSIC, AND BOOKS ON TAPE/CD AND COMPUTERS!
FREE!!!

2. Join your Friends of the Library group (or whatever it's called in your town). OK, this is not usually free, but ours is only 15 bucks a year for a family membership. You can write it off your income taxes. So it's almost free. Our membership gets us into the wine and cheese preview of our annual book sale fundraiser, among other events. Members get the first pick of the (CHEAP! CHEAP!) books that go on sale to the public the next morning.

Thank you.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.
;-)

1. Hey, can people donate books to the library? I can think of
quite a few that should definitely be on our shelves.

4. You bet! In memoriam, or whatever.
Our library pastes a little sticker on the inside front cover "This book donated by_______________".

7. We belong
Fifteen dollars for family. We donate books and bake sale things. Keep books over time pat fines. Lot of fun.

I have been asked to work with a group of would be writers starting in May. I am flattered.

10. Donations to libraries are readily accepted
If they don't put the books/CDs/DVDs on the shelves, they put them in the next book sale to raise money.

I donated a copy of F911 when it first came out. I've never seen it on the shelves since--it's continually checked out.

Librarians rock!

9. Definitely a kick!!
Libraries are great resources for so many things, and free... our local one won't issue me a card without an ID with my current address on it, though :( I want books!!
