With the prevelence of airbags, they are teaching 9 and 3 so your hands don't shoot up and break your face.

That said, I am more of a one arm on the stick shift, one hand loosly on the 12:00 postion. }(

That goes for automatics too. I can't drive using two hands because I'm so used to driving a manual. The exception is making u-turns. Kinda weird, huh? :shrug:

Recently, however, with the advent of some painfully nasty bony spurs in my right shoulder, I now keep both hands at 6:30. Sometimes the right one at 6:30 and the left at 8 or 9...Depends on how much my shoulder is hurting!
