The "Recommend Topic for Greatest Page" at the bottom of every OP-- use it
(OP is usually original poster, but bear with me and understand it as original post this time. Can't think of another way to say it except for thread-starting post, which wasn't going to fit on the subject line either)

If a thread-starter moves you, makes you laugh until you pee your pants or demonstrates insight that leaves you awed, breathless and doubtful of the ground beneath your feet (hey-- it could happen!), before you post hugs or LOL or wOOt, howzabout using the "Recommend Topic for Greatest Page" hypertext (at the bottom of the post, in the middle). There's a lot of highly deserving stuff going by the boards (forgive unintentional pun) because people don't think to do so, or forget, or don't bother. Now it takes 3 votes to get on the Greatest page, so it does make a difference.

Now, go nominate LeftCoast's post about the letter his Mom wrote after his father's recent death, here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=105&topic_id=3027922&mesg_id=3027922
You'll feel better and be all closer to heaven and stuff.
