1. Hell,I'm for recreational maryjane.
I cannot understand why they would deny it to someone terminally ill.

8. I am too.
Nature made it. And law enforcement kills it in the wild any time they see it. What if they did that to some other plant on the endangered or threatened species lists? Marijuana was originally found in the wild. Mankind used it for medicinal purposes both physical and mental. In my case, years ago it was for mental purposes. Now, I use none and I am about 1/2 step from being legally insane without it. I say let's sue the US government for further endangering an endangered species and our lives by killing this beautiful plant in the wild. I wonder if we really could push to get it listed as an endangered species?

7. Med use makes too much sense.
It grows rather than is manufactured. It would be cheaper and have fewer side effects. We know it helps with several conditions and they refuse to fund any research into other potential uses...

Yep, sounds like compassionate conservatism at its finest.

Count me in. Med use is a gotta do and legalizing it would be fine by me.

9. Absolutely!
I have MS and even if I was found with dope by the police they wouldn't take it any further. My mother, relatives, neighbours, even my neurologist has suggested getting some. In which case, if it won't do me any harm then why can't anyone else have it?

Problem is, by the time they've messed it around and made it "legal" for medical uses, it won't be half as much fun as the stuff I've already been smoking for 30 years. Cheaper though, I guess.

13. The only reason its illegal is because you can grow it yourself.
If the Pharm companies could stop that, and charge hugh prices, it would be legal in a hot minute. I don't smoke the stuff because I have an adverse reaction to it, but my hand is way up.

16. Zuni's hand is raised
if doctors can give people morphine derivatives like Oxycontin and Demerol, there is no reason why someone should not be able to smoke marijuana if a doctor thinks its best

17. If guns and alcohol are legal
which cause farm more damage than pot ever could, the marijuana should be legal.

I draw the line at legalizing toxic chemicals like crystal meth, PCP and crack. Meth especially, because the dangers of creating it endanger not only the users, but everyone near a meth lab

18. I do!!!
My uncle had AIDS and toward the end when he had no appetite he was greatly helped by Marinol. There were many times when I wished I knew some folks who partook of the herb because I am sure the real thing would have been more effective.

19. The criminalization of marijuana is systemic of much of what's wrong
in this country. It makes criminals out of far too many young people (almost all poor) and too many of those in law enforcement who illegally enrich themselves therefrom. Let's take the profit out of marijuana and quit allowing needless suffering by denying medical use of marijuana to those who need it to alleviate pain. I woud proffer there is no greater hypocrites living than those who would deny marijuana for medical purposes. P.S. Never once used the stuff myself, but that's my take.

24. Why not?
The effects of pot, as opposed to other drugs, are quite benign, so I don't see the big deal. Even if it were legal, however, I wouldn't smoke it again because it makes me a tad paranoid.
