Rum and diet mountain dew code red
what can I say ... I need a little caffeine at the moment. Rum, really, goes with just about anything anyway ...

1. Diet anything doesn't work too great as a mixer...
Edited on Sat Apr-09-05 01:26 AM by Spider Jerusalem
but if you don't have anything else, it's excusable :)

Just polished off my third bourbon & RC, on to beer...only because I'm out of bourbon, dammit :(

4. Actually I've found diet orange and orange rum
to be a rather pleasant combination. :) I've always kind of liked diet drinks anyway, though, and I've found that drinking several rum and diet vanilla cokes results in a less run down feeling on Saturday morning than Rum and Cokes (with all that sugar) ;)

7. Hehe.
Bourbon seems to be pretty kind to me. I can down 4 or 5 bourbon & (non-diet) colas without getting a bit of a hangover the next day. But then I always engage in preventive medicine, too (water + vitamin B)...

10. yeah, it's all about the water
as long as I drink plenty of water, I'm fine. Actually, I've never had much of a problem with hangovers anyway. Guess I'm lucky. But I always buy a new gallon of water before the weekend comes ;)

I only wish I had some of that to mix with things right now ...

9. It goes damned well with bourbon.
Better than Coke, IMO...Coke is a bit TOO sweet. RC allows the sweetness of the whiskey to come through.

6. I promise not to make a habit of it
but our friends didn't show tonight until almost 1 a.m., so I needed a little caffeine. After this I'll switch to something a little less desperate :)

3. Reminds me of the night in college...
...when I got completely blotto on Sloe Gin.

Ruined a pair of socks, I did. I'm sure you can guess how.

20. That....and Ouzo.
Edited on Sat Apr-09-05 06:41 AM by Atlas Mugged
Ouzo was my first "real" drunk. My friends, all older than me, thought it was hilarious to get me tipsy. "Look, if you mix Ouzo with water it looks like MILK! And it's just as harmless, too!". The joke was on them when my antics got them evicted from their apartment.

Southern Comfort was my first "real" hangover. I can't even think about it without getting green around the gills.

13. It was YEARS before I could get into beer
I always wanted to, but I drank strictly hard liquor for the first several years of my alcoholic age. I like beer now, though :)

But not so good for the body as I can surely attest. 5'10" 250 :)

17. best cheap beer I know of ...

It's about 2.75 a six pack at the liquor stores here ... (and it's six point, which is no big deal outside of Oklahoma, but here you can only buy 3.2 beer in the grocery stores thanks to the freakin' baptists :grr:)
