(might be Martin Lauretson, or some odd variation on both the names).

Writes choral music, quite beautiful dissonances and lots of time signature changes. He's still living, in the Pacific Northwest I think. His Lux Aeterna is especially beautiful.

I am always suspicious of why someone would want to create a half million messages in one year. A freeper might want to build up a name by increasing their message counts. It's all about content not quantity.

I read messages more than I post. I have been accused in GD a few times and they brought up the message totals. When you click on the profile of the accusers it shows they joined a couple of months ago and have racked up thousands of messages. You find no content in the messages from most of the ones doing the accusing.

GD is a shark tank and frivolous isn't something like this. It's the threads that get a bunch of people into arguments and they keep starting them. The topic was Immigration and I mentioned that we need to go after the people doing the hiring. They pay people several dollars to work for them and they take advantage of the poor like they are dogs. Someone started calling everyone in the thread prejudice because we were against this practice. Five minutes later another thread is started up on the same subject with the same people coming in to bash the ones that are against the employers. That's flame bait and I think that a few of them might be freepers.

115. It's silly to suspect or give posters a pass just because of post numbers.

In my years at DU, I've seen freepers banned after garnering thousands of posts, and I've seen people who seemed liberal get the axe after just a couple hundred because they crossed a line.

You can tell a person's authenticity not by there post number, but by the quality of their posts in other forums besides the Lounge. I've befriended brand new DUers immediately after they joined, and I never suspected them of being freepers because their posts were well reasoned and showed liberal insight. However, there have been some people who have racked up thousands of posts posting nowhere but in the lounge, so they've actually done nothing to show their Democratic stripes.

It's in the quality of posts, not the quantity of them.
