So - how many divisions DOES the pope have?
and are they all dressed up in that mideval orange and purple striped garb and armed with spears?

I can see why Stalin would have been unimpressed, even if they had an assload of divisions....

1. Hmm, I dunno
But in The DaVinci Code, those guys come across as badass in the extreme. Of course, I have no idea if their badass-ness is based on fact.

5. There used to be a number of them
Each with their own uniform. But I think it was Paul VI who did away with all of them except the Swiss Guards.

i thought they were neutral - would seem strange to have them protecting a separate sovereign.
