Go Ahead... Tease Me If You Want. -- I'm Not Ashamed To Admit...
... that EVERYTHING I'm wearing right now was purchased at the thrift store. (Well, okay... not the underwear... but everything else.)

And if I hadn't told you, you'd never have known it... It takes a little bit of patience, but I can usually find the good stuff! It also helps if you know WHICH stores to go to.

8. YAAAAAAY! Wifie buys HIGH CLASS STUFF at the thrift store for...
a penny on the retail dollar! She will buy virtually new blouses and stuff with designer labels for $3 each.

Me, I scour the paper for the end of season sales. I am currently wearing an $85 pair of dress pants I bought new at a "75% off, with an addition 30% off" sale for like $10. I have on a $40 designer tie I bought for $6. My white dress shirt was originally $45, I bought it for $5.

It is possible to dress like you are rich and spend like you are poor, if you wait out the sales and pick through what is left over. Do it enough, and you'll have a fab wardrobe.

25. When It Comes To Neckties, I've NEVER Found Anything At A Thrift Shop...
... that I like. People tend to hang on to neckties (as do I) so by the time a necktie actually makes it to the thrift store, there's a good REASON that it's there.

9. I have to make purchases at thrift stores
I lost so much weight so quickly, there was no way to keep up with the need for smaller sizes and not break the bank.

10. Bravo!
I`ve been on a mission my entire adult life to use, reuse, recycle, make do, be resourceful and I`m proud of it.

My last car was a 1988 Subaru that was purchased off someone`s lawn for $50. I ran it three years with no repair costs. My winter jacket was purchased at a yard sale six years ago for $1.00. I couldn`t care less what anyone thinks about what I wear or what I drive. What does matter to me is that I take good care of whatever I have and be grateful to have it.

I love thrift stores. You have to look, and take the time to look all over town, but it's worth it.

18. I live in the Keys and can only buy warm weather clothing...
so I needed winter clothes fast when I was going on my Europe trip earlier this month. I went to Salvation Army store and Wa La! Five gorgeous cold weather outfits AND a Fleet Street coat for $60, and it all looked brand new. It cost me more to have it all dry cleaned!

26. Which Key?
My aunt lived on Ramrod key until just last year. She couldn't take the hurricanes (or the threat of them) anymore. I'm sorry she left... it was always great to have FREE room and board whenever we wanted to have a quick (cheap) trip to Key West.

22. I have a pair of gorgeous black Donna Karan slacks
I got at a thrift store for $2. They are wide leg and BEAUTIFUL. I had them dry cleaned and they were dazzling.

I also have a really nice heavy single-breasted wool dress coat (black) I got for $5. It was missing a button and I couldn't find a match, so I replaced all five buttons with cooler ones and had it dry-cleaned. It is THE most awesome coat, I'm always getting compliments on it.

Thrift stores ROCK.

I bet you look cutey-patootey corn chip.

24. My wife is constantly finding Coach and Dooney & Burke handbags
for a couple of bucks. On the hardware side, about 3 weeks ago, I picked up a complete AMD XP 1700+ system (Including monitor) for $5 - had a bad stick of RAM, but nobody in this town knows anything about computers, so they thought it was shot.

Hey...you know how to find a good bargain! Nothing wrong with that. :-)

You restrained from buying the underwear there, which would be the only nit to pick. :-)

33. Ain't nothing wrong with going to a thrift store for stuff you need
When we moved up here and had no furniture, things were really tight. Luckily Value Village had furniture, we got a recliner, a part of a sectional and a TV stand for under $30.
