I have an interesting book called "The Formation of Hell."

It is a chronological account of the concept of Hell from the origins to today (modern times). It wasn't always everlasting.

The History Channel is showing more and more Woo-Woo Crap all the time. Along with stuff like the ancient right-wing conspiracy theories about FDR and Pearl Harbor, they show really laughable nonsense like "aliens built the pyramids" or "Hitler's use of occult powers."

The real occult crackpot among the Nazis was former chicken farmer Heinrich Himmler, Reichsfuhrer of the SS.

Himmler completely pissed off his boss with those bogus archeological expeditions to discover the Aryans. Hitler said the only thing that accomplished was to prove that the Germans were still living in mud huts when Italians were living in marble palaces.

There's also the story of Himmler putting on some cockeyed Aryan Religious Folk Dance once at a Nazi Xmas pageant. Hitler watched for a few minutes and said: "I don't think this will ever replace 'Silent Night.'"

I do occasionally laugh at "Mysteries of the Bible," since most of them aren't mysteries at all. Lots of wishful thinking, though.
