Gwen Stefani Is A Fucking Idiot, Just Like Ashley Simpson
She could have gone far, but instead she went far down.

Can I hear some taps?

6. Um . . . I just saw her on Letterman
Standing in a football jersey and shorts, dancing and singing in front of 9 other dancers, with fake music playing in the background, spouting inane and meaningless lyrics.

That schtick was almost novel, WHEN FUCKING MICHEAL JACKSON DID IT TWENTY YEARS AGO.

13. just a girl
Take this pink ribbon off my eyes
I'm exposed
And it's no big surprise
Don't you think I know
Exactly where I stand
This world is forcing me
To hold your hand

'Cause I'm just a girl, little ol' me
Don't let me out of your sight
I'm just a girl, all pretty and petite
So don't let me have any rights
Oh...I've had it up to here!
>br> The moment that I step outside
So many reasons
For me to run and hide
I can't do the little things
I hold so dear
'Cause it's all those little things
That I fear

'Cause I'm just a girl.
I'd rather not be
'Cause they won't let me drive
Late at night
I'm just a girl,
Guess I'm some kind of freak
'Cause they all sit and stare
With their eyes
I'm just a girl.
Take a good looks at me
Just your typical prototype
Oh...I've had it up to here!
Oh...am I making myself clear?

I'm just a girl
I'm just a girl in the world...
That's all that you'll let me be!

I'm just a girl, living in captivity
Your rule of thumb
Make me worry some
I'm just a girl, what's my destiny?
What I've succumbed to
Is making me numb
I'm just a girl. my apologies
What I've becocme is burdensome
I'm just a girl. lucky me
Twiddle-dum there's no camparison

Oh...I've had it up to!
Oh...I've had it up to!!
Oh...I've had it up to here.

2. I was never into her stuff
too trendy, too uber-modern

I like old school stuff like Soul, Blues and some classic rock

3. worst Kate Bush knock off ever.
Edited on Tue Mar-22-05 12:30 AM by jdj
what did she do, anyway?

edit: Ashlee Simpson, strictly speaking, is more talented, though she is a total Courtney Love knock-off (I'm really surprised Courtney hasn't kicked her ass for stealing every vocal affectation she ever came up with).

18. Hah?
"Kate Bush knock off?" I must've missed that.

At least she didn't try to cover Wuthering Heights - at least, that I know of.

24. Gwen ROCKS! Not afraid to create her own style, and refuses to be
told what to record by record companies. I would say she's an inspiration to musicians. Her latest album is genius.

WTF is up with the whole 'meaningless lyrics' thing? Read the following song, off her latest album:
http://www.seeklyrics.com/lyrics/Gwen-Stefani/Long-Way-To-Go.html

Yeah, she is horribly meaningless, promoting tolerance and all. How dare she!

9. Speaking of "spice"
It is starting to look like she could have been the 6th Spice Girl.

She missed her calling.

12. I agree
Tragic Kingdom is alright; I never get sick of "Don't Speak" even after hearing it probably more than a hundred times. The singles off of the Simple Kind of Life album were some pretty good stuff, too, especially "Simple Kind of Life" itself. I don't know what the hell happened to No Doubt after Rock Steady, and Stefani's solo career has sucked even worse, IMHO.

14. Gwen: The poster child for "Why Chrissie Hynde Never Left The Pretenders"
Not that I mean to insult Chrissie by comparing careers with Stefani.

15. I remember being in high school when "Tragic Kingdom" was big.
It was okay. "Don't Speak" was a decent tune, but I remember "Rock Steady" a few years later. I HATED IT. The songs from that album were terrible.

Singing and dancing?

Like Ginger Rogers, Michael Jackson, MC Hammer . . . ?

19. That... performance on Letterman tonight was appalling.
It's a shame, because I actually liked Tragic Kingdom. I don't listen to it anymore, but I played the hell out of that CD in middle/high school.
