Do Not Resuscitate me, and please leave my husband alone
when he tries to fulfill my wishes.

God, I just have to let off a little steam here! I cannot believe what is happening tonight, and how the media is spinning it! I just heard on the radio that "The President is waiting in the White House, with pen in hand, waiting to sign the Congressional Order to reinsert the feeding tube into Terri Schiavo, in a desperate bid to save her life"> I mean W.T.F.

Because I may get hit by a truck tomorrow, and I don't have a Living Will, I just want everyone, including George FUCKING Bush to know that if I am in a vegetative state, I want to be able to die. I want to cross over with my loved ones by my side, knowing that they did what they could, within reason, to save my life. And once it became apparent that I would no longer be able to function, I want them to know that they have my permission, and my ORDER to LET ME GO!

Please God, let that poor woman cross over, please take her, please let her escape from this circus sideshow.

1. Get yourself a living will!
I've said the same thing for years, but about a year ago when I saw what they were doing with this case in the Fl courts, I made a living will, and you should too!

Even tonight, you can write a note stating your wishes. It's not as effective as a living will and durable POA, but it's better than nothing in writing.

4. That's why I posted it here. I sent a link to my husband so he has a
record.

And I promise you, I will get a living will right away!

5. When my mother was dying...
We had three things: Living Will, Power of attorney, and a DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) Order. Had to bring all three every time she was hospitalized. Saved a lot of headaches.

2. I am with you 100%. I am going to create a living will

saying that I do not wish to be sustained on life support or to receive sustenance if I am ever in a persistive vegetative state, and in that living will I will have a final clause which reads:

If any family members, members of Congress, Christian zealots, or the President of the US should disagree with my wishes and the stipulations of this living will -- then, since I am in a coma, I want them to know that if I could yell, I would say F&^K YOU!

3. THANK YOU! May I use your last line in mine, too? My only addition
would be to echo the immortal words of Sally Baron, "especially that whistle ass George Bush".
