The strange thing is that my favorite local joint to get a quality sub is called "Our Hero".

5. Around here they're called Po-Boys...
You make them on French bread. The quintessential po-boy is a "Ferdy" roast beef, ham and swiss (a good one will require the use of at least six napkins). If you want lettuce, tomato pickles and mayo you ask for a "dressed" po-boy.
Then there's the ever popular oyster-loaf, just another name for a fried oyster po-boy. Seafood po-boys kick much ass.
