Defrosted my freezer, and found...

2 containers of cauliflower I froze at least two years ago

4 containers of unidentifiable sauces

2 bags of frozen ravioli with no dates, but I don't remember buying them

1 bag of frozen squash that I vaguely remember buying a long tme ago.

1 container, almost empty, of chocolate ice cream that I made long before I lost part of the ice cream maker.

The rest of the stuff in there is fairly recent, and presumably edible.

3. We cleaned out my Grandmother's deep freeze in 1981,

and found frozen (garden)vegetables from 1965! Sheesh, that woman never threw anything out. We distracted her long enough to throw it to the hogs.

She did the same thing with canned vegetables, too. She was an equal opportunity pack rat!

Something about living through the Depression had a lot to do with it.

6. I truly believe that things in the freezer are in some sort of time warp..

... we put them in the freezer 'just yesterday', but the date I wrote on the package was 30 years ago....testament to the fact that we don't like to eat frozen food. It's a failure.
