One of the worst weekends of my life...

On Thursday I felt a dull pain in my groin and jokingly told my wife that I must have a hernia. I also noticed a lump on my scrotum that was similar to a pimple. I didn't think anything of it at the time.

Friday, we have to take the kids to the dr's as they are both sick. My son has a double ear infection and bronchitus; my daughter has an ear infection and a bad cold. Poor munchkins can't catch a break this year -- one cold after another after another for them.

Friday night I go to work (I work evenings). While at work, I start to feel crappy. I have chills, fever, headache...I think I have the flu and go home early. I get home and go to sleep.

Saturday morning, I wake up and the left side of my scrotum is swollen to almost twice it's size. Not only that, but the pimple or whatever has popped and I have the nastiest looking sore I have ever seen. I have no idea what is going on. I am also still having flu like symptoms and feel like I am going to puke. Kids are still sick and now my wife has a bad cold, too.

Saturday night, I am in so much pain I have to go to the emergency room. I get a big shot of antibiotics, a shot of painkiller, a tetanus shot, and two prescriptions for antibiotics. I go home, get a couple of hours of sleep before kids are up. My wife and I trade shifts sleeping and taking care of two sick kids. I can hardly walk and am still very swollen.

Sunday I am still swollen and still have fever, aches, etc. My wife and I figure out that I never had the flu, but my body was fighting infection. Kids still sick and wife still sick. They are not sleeping well so we do not sleep.

Today (Tuesday) is the first time I have felt half way decent since Friday. I still do not know what caused my swelling and infection. Swelling has gone down but still hurts. Now, I have the cold that everyone else had. It is almost humorous and my wife and I were laughing about it last night.

When it rains it pours.

I'd really want to find out exactly what was wrong. Never has happened to my equipment.
