A merkin is a pubic wig.

3. A simple implement really...
...it's a toupee for the pubic region.

I don't think they exist, but it's one of those sorts of things that still needs a word for it. Sort of like "felching."

7. I'll be damned
That didn't occur to me at all. I can't say it makes sense right away but after it all there's some things I guess I'm innocent to.

12. It grows back, and every cancer patient I know could care less,
about their pubic region hair and I know a lot of Cancer Patients BTW. Most barely have the energy to do basic tasks, let alone cruise the singles bars for hot dates.

13. Yeah
Merkins have been around for a long time, in the olden days it was because people would shave for hygeien.

When the wig guy comes around with the catalog, they have merkins in there. So says a freind of mine who went through chemo. He didn't get one either but he did still try and get laid.

9. I was wearing it at the time
so I had to rinse and repeat for about twelve minutes.

10. careful....if you do that too much...
....you'll go blind.

of course, your response would be (with apologies to some old joke-writer): "Couldn't I just wash it until I need glasses?"

11. In "Dr. Strangelove," one of Peter Sellers' characters is named...
Merkin Muffley, who is none other than the president of the United States.

An apropos name, no?
