Would you pay $125 to see KISS & Aerosmith?

They're playing together here in Omaha next month.

Now, I'm 34; I grew up with these bands, but have never seen them. I'd love to go, but $125 seems obscene to me. (Although, I somehow managed to justify $450 for an F1 race ticket a few years ago--and I'd do it again.)

it seems that all stadium rock bands were at their best when they were the most messed up.

On the one hand, I think seeing rock bands far past their expiration date may be, in the end, disappointing.

On the other, I have a 'must-see-before-they-die' list myself...so I guess I'd say go for it. Just be prepared to see just how old those guys are. It's not a great comparison, but I saw Jimmy Smith last year, and that guy is oooooooooold. Was kind of a bittersweet experience.

It was kind of crummy. He was reduced to doing 'jazz' versions of Michael Jackson and Cindy Lauper tunes. Sad.

I guess I'll just have to invent that time machine so I can go back to the Plugged Nickel in 1962. Or was it '64?

I'm sure you will enjoy it. Heck I had a fit last year when I took my son to a RUSH concert and the tickets were $50 each. He loved it, it was money well spent.

I wouldn't give $2 to see KISS - I always hated them.

$125 to see Aerosmith is too steep for me. I saw them for the first time in a bar in Salisbury Beach, MA when I was 17. It was about 6 months before "Dream On" became a big hit.

I saw them again at the old Boston Garden in 1978. My ears rang for 3 days afterward. That was before we really understood that loud music could hurt our hearing.

The only people I'd pay that much to see in concert are Axl & the new band (If they ever get around to releasing Chinese Democracy) - or Weird Al - and only if I were in the front row :)

Actually, I'd pay that much to see The Genitorturers perform, too - but it would have to be a private show for me and like, 9 friends or something.

if say, Rage Against The Machine went on a reunion tour, I would GLADLY pay that much. Personally, I would never see Aerosmith OR Kiss for FREE. But, if you like them enough to, go on ahead. It's not like, not normal or anything if you're a big fan...

Aerosmith became AeroShit some time around 1989 when they stopped writing their own songs and started buying shit ballads from the same schlockmasters who write for Michael Bolton and Celine Dion :puke:

And the first KISS reunion tour was a great idea, but that should have been the end of it. Now they have a roadie playing Ace's part and Peter making comments about wanting to shoot Gene in the back of the head on stage. Oh yeah, Paul Stanley wears a WIG!! :wtf:

Neither of these pathetic creations qualifies as a rock n roll band anymore.

14. Aerosmith did a great show last time I saw them, about 5 yrs ago

Still giving their all in the show. Steven Tyler moving around the stage with more energy than I had 20 years ago. They played a lot of their old tunes. And I've seen them about 4 or 5 times through the years, including a show in a college gym just after their first album came out, and I wasn't at all disappointed the last time I saw them. If $125 is affordable for you, I'd say go for it, particularly since you've never seem them before. Unless things have gone seriously downhill in the past few years, they've still got the goods.

They also had $125 tix too, those being in something called the "gold circle" if I remember correctly.

I had plans to see them, but something came up that prevented me from going.

I've seen Kiss several times, last time here in Charleston in what was supposed to be thier final US show. But I have never walked away from a Kiss show saying "man, that wasn't worth it."

Imho, check to see if maybe you're not just looking at some "upper tier" tix - I would think they'd have some prices closer to earth.

Imho as well, if you can spare the money, and you've never seen a Kiss show, I say do it. You may not get another chance, and, as far as I can tell, they don't do half-ass shows.

And you get to see Aerosmith.

if they were playing for free in a club on the other side of the street, crossing would be more effort than either band is worth, in my opinion.

...and I wouldn't pay one dollar to see them. "Crap bands" is what they are.
