It's called "splinting" and it still hurts like Hell!

Big Baby rant and vent here. Grumpy Family Cold '05 has finally caught up to me. The problem? It hurts so crazily much to cough. Sure I've got the paper explaining just how to hold the pillow over the incision and cough...but it still hurts like a ...well, you know.

1. abdominal incision?

I had a laparotomy back in 1987 and coughing, laughing and otherwise "stretching" the area was excruciating. The pillow helped, but it did not eliminate the problem. Hope you heal quickly.

2. Yes...you'd think I'd get used to it...but no.

This was a nasty, yicky incision and rib spread, but still...Ouch!

that's what that damn cough did to me back in November. It just lingered for 9 days too until finally I got some over the counter pills to break up the congestion - they were PRICEY but they did the trick - dammit, what was the name of that stuff?

....get better Woman!! I broke a rib coughin' with the flu once...turned and coughed..snapped a rib...had to drown in cough syrup practically...most miserable I've ever felt....hope it gets better soon for ya!! :hi: :hug: gently!
