Has anyone ever tried out to be a contestant on "Jeopardy"?
I was just watching today's Jeopardy...and they talk about how they're going around the country for tryouts. If there are tryouts in Chicago anytime, I have this weird idea for trying out for it. :-)

If anyone has tried this...what was your experiences?

2. someone posted here recently who was about to audition
I have friends who took the test and didn't pass it. They said it was very hard...harder than the questions on the show. Very few people pass it.

But you should give it a go!!!

10. that was me. i am auditioning on march 31.
i am brushing up on my world capitals and that sort of thing, but most people say that you can't really study for it - the subject matter is too broad and random.

Good luck! I hope you get on! And me too!

3. My daughter did a tryout in Seattle
She almost made it, but was kind of freaked out by the experience. She said it was intimidating. But she swears she'll do it again the next time they come to the Northwest.

Schedule looks like this:

February:

* Atlanta, GA
* Washington, DC

April & May:

* Chicago, IL
* Houston, TX
* Madison, WI
* New York City, NY
* Phoenix, AZ
* Tampa, FL
* Toronto, ONT, Canada

June:

* Philadelphia

Go for it! http://www.jeopardy.com/

4. I was on about 10 years ago
so it may have changed, it was a written test, maybe 50 questions. The room had a hundred candidates and five of us passed. (I was like 'who me?')... then you do a 'mock game' with the producer so they can see your personality, the way you would play the game. I think 3 out of the 5 made it to the show. They don't want you bouncing up and down like an idiot, but I remember one young lady was just too bizarre with her mannerisms and the things she said and she didn't make it through. Good luck!

11. Do you remember what kinds of questions were on that test?
Was it multiple choice - or were the questions worded as they would be on the show?

I consider myself reasonably knowledgable and I'm pretty good at trivia games, but if 5 out of 100 people passed - YIKES. That must have been a hard test!
