Oasis announce North American shows
Edited on Mon Feb-07-05 02:34 PM by LoZoccolo
To coincide with the release of their long awaited new album this summer Oasis will be playing a limited number of very special live shows in North America including some of their biggest ever American dates. Special guest on all shows will be Australian rock phenomenon Jet. These will be the bands first performances in America since the summer of 2002. Tickets for all shows go on sale on Saturday 12th February.

2. If I go, I will have to sit through the derivative band Jet.

Jet is derivative of earlier garage bands who came before them.

3. I expect the gigs to be downsized when demand does not meet expectation.

Still, nice publicity for now, eh Noel?

The only time people announce gigs five months in advance is when they're worried about not selling tickets - I assume Oasis hope that they can somehow hype a US hit out of one of the tired-Who/Beatles/Weller knock-offs they'll release as a single in order to sell the tickets. I doubt it.
How many copies did their last two records sell here, anyway? 3? 4?

4. They sold at least 37,675 copies of /Heathen Chemistry/.
And that was just the first week!

Standing On The Shoulders Of Giants sold even more.

5. What is the percentage records sell in the first week?
I imagine with something like Oasis, it'd be pretty high.
So, as the previous record sold more, it seems their record sales are dwindling. Sad really. No it isn't.

7. Those are just the facts.
People say that the Kinks were better than Oasis; well, how many records did their latest album sell?

6. Too bad there's never been a band that suffered a streak of
self-destructing lead singers, and guitarists that choked to death on someone else's vomit.
